Carol Ann Smith passed away at the age of 76 on February 1, 2024 at Hot Springs Health after a period of declining health. She was born in Torrington, Wyoming to Jack and Marie Saultz and was baby sister to Kaye Burnett. They moved to Thermopolis in 1957 and she graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1965.
Carol married the love of her life, David Smith in 1973 and they just recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. She was most proud of her two daughters, Jackie and Linsey. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, snowmobiling, visiting with her friends and spending all of her spare time at the Cabin in Dubois. To know her was to love her. She had a heart of gold and loved unconditionally.
Carol worked for Hot Springs County in the Extension Office and Weed and Pest for 28 years before she retired and served as a member of the H.S.County fair board for 20+ years.
Carol is survived by her loving husband David of Thermopolis; daughters, Jackie (Adam) Lapp of Casper and Linsey (Travis) Brooks of Thermopolis; grandchildren Mason Reese, Mariah, Aspen and Ian Brooks; sister, Kaye Burnett of Casper; LD and Marilyn Smith of Centennial, CO, LF and Abby Smith of Dallas, TX, CL Smith, of Santa Rosa, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by parents, Jack and Marie Saultz. No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
