Memorial services for Corrie L. Lovercheck, 81, will be held Friday, June 2, 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Thermopolis with Pastor Harvey Seidel officiating.  Mr. Lovercheck passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center in Thermopolis where he had resided the past few years.

Born September 14, 1934 in Powell, WY he was the oldest child of Corrie and Norma (Richards) Lovercheck.  Growing up in Powell he graduated from Powell High School in 1953.  He attended college from 1953-1957.   From 1958-1961 he served in the U.S. Army.  He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL graduating in 1964.  Corrie practiced optometry in Jackson, WY until 2001 when he retired and moved to Thermopolis, WY.

He married Ida B. McKinney of Tacoma, WA in 1961.  They had 3 children.  The couple later divorced.

Corrie married Adelaida “Honey” Laseo in 1987 and adopted her daughter, Melannie.

While in Jackson, he served and held offices on the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club.  He was a member of the Wyoming Optometric Association and also served as secretary of the Wyoming Board of Examiners in Optometry.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and Thermopolis.

His hobbies included Ham Radio Operator WA7LOW, wood working and camping.  He also had a pilot’s license and owned his own airplane.

Corrie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Honey of Thermopolis; former wife, Ida of Bend, OR; brother, Larry (Trina) Lovercheck of Palo Alto, CA; sister, Joyce (Mike) Kelley of Thermopolis; daughter, Dara (Jeff) Ross, Kalispell, MT; son, C.B. (Kirsten) Lovercheck, Pendleton, OR; daughters, Lahnay (Alan) Hanson, Bend, OR, and Melannie Lovercheck, San Diego, CA; grandchildren Jason, Robert, Lily, Hunter, Luke, Kelsey and Reilly; great grandson, Blake and many nieces and nephews.
