Born on Valentine’s Day in 1925 in Elba, Colorado, he was one of five children of  Edward and Laura (Bell) Edkins.  He worked with his family on the farm until entering the US Army at the age of 18.  After his discharge he became a foreman on the Burlington Northern Railroad for six years.

During retirement he became a “ramblin’ man” living in several states until settling in Riverton, then moving to Thermopolis in the early 2000’s.  He entertained  people in nursing homes with his singing and guitar playing.  He loved to dance, especially to Western music. Geno enjoyed working with Kindergartners as a Foster Grandparent, coloring right along with them.   He later resided at the Wyoming Pioneer Home until moving to TRW.
