Former Thermopolis resident, Helen Katherine Kinsel, 86, passed away Sunday, September 9 in Casper, Wyoming where she had resided the past few years.
Born June 10, 1932 in Bryan, Texas she was the daughter of Henry and Annie (Huff) Byer. Following graduation from Bryan High School she attended Southwest Business University in Houston, TX in 1953 with a degree in Secretarial Science.
On May 25, 1960, she married George Kinsel of Altoona, Pennsylvania. The couple later moved to Thermopolis where Helen was employed as a bookkeeper for TRW Reda Pump and LTV. She later was a house parent for BOCES for many years.
She loved her family immensely and her great grandson was the light of her life the past four years. Her interests included traveling, bowling, her family and playing bridge. Helen was a member of Community Federated Church, Lions Club, VFW and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Loved ones cherishing her memory include her grandchildren, Stephanie Comstock/Stuart of Casper and Katherine Anderson/Chelsey of Virginia; brother, Melvin (Sheila) Byer of Pasadena, TX and her great grandson, Colin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter, Sheila 2016 and son, Troy 2017; and three brothers.
Visitation will be held at Mortimore Funeral Home, Saturday morning, September 15 and a Memorial Service will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery at 11:30 AM with Reverend Chuck Cooper officiating. A reception will follow at the Community Church Hall.
