Kay Custer Freudenthal, 77 passed away January 31, 2018, in Little Rock Arkansas, from complications of a stroke.
She was born in Reno Nevada on May 11, 1940 to Paul and Lucille Custer. The family, including her two brothers Paul and Larry, moved to Thermopolis in 1948. Kay graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1948. She and Neil married that same year. Neil took a job with Texaco which took them to many different places during their marriage. Most notably they spent several years in Ecuador. During that time Kay volunteered her time helping a school for disadvantaged youth as well as other various charities. Through the years she volunteered with many different organizations. She loved to knit and crochet, supplying friends and family with various handmade items.
After retiring they made their home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. She was active in various clubs in the village. Summers were spent traveling to Wyoming to visit family, camping and fishing. For a number of years they wintered in Florida.
She is survived by her husband Neil; sons, Robert Neil of Nebraska and Gregory Lee; grandson Mathew of New Orleans; and brothers, Paul and Larry Custer.
Kay was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jody Lynn, and her parents.
Memorial services will be held April 21, 10:00 am at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Thermopolis Wyoming. Burial will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to 53 Dedalera Way, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909.
