Allan Thomas Baird

Thermopolis resident, Allan Thomas Baird, 78, passed away January 1, 2020 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.

Born August 20, 1941 in Worland, Wyoming, he was one of four children of Thomas and Edna (Rankine) Baird. 

In 1964 he married Pat McGarvin in Golden, Colorado.  The couple raised four daughters.  They ranched on Gooseberry and Cottonwood Creeks for over 60 years.  Pat died in 2004.

Allan was a 4-H leader and served on the South Thermopolis Water Board.  He enjoyed leatherwork, reading and Sudoku.

On November 28, 2009, Allan married Niki Dean in Thermopolis and gained three step-sons.

Survivors include his wife, Niki of Thermopolis; daughters, Robbie (Mark) LeValley of Hotchkiss, CO, Pam (Marty) Reed, and Kathy (Rick) Groh, both of Thermopolis and Amy (Curtis) Iverson of Billings, MT; stepchildren, Cory (Sue) Walk and Casey (Jamie) Walk; brothers, Bob (Norine) of Hot Springs, SD, John (Virginia) and Ray (Roxanne) both of Thermopolis; grandchildren, Taylor, Charles, Christopher, Kaylee, Ross, James, Blake and Rylee and 4 great grandchildren.  Allan was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Pat and stepson, Kelly Walk.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 6, 2020, 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church with Dick Wortham of Douglas, WY officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery
