Beverly Jean Urwin McQueen, 86, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness Center following a period of declining health.
Born March 12, 1937 in Lovell, Wyo., she was the daughter of John Edward (BUM) and Adele (St. Clair) Urwin. They had a ranch on Lance Creek where Beverly attended Hamilton Dome School, and Thermopolis High School.
On June 20, 1953, she married Douglas Arley McQueen in Thermopolis. Arley was a career petroleum engineer and his job had them living in Cody, Lafayette, Louisiana and Nigeria, Africa. After retirement Bev and Arley split their time between Arizona and Wyoming.
She is survived by her sons, Randy and his wife Babette of Denver, Rodney and his wife Tawna of Thermopolis; three grandchildren, Megan, Ian, and Adam; two step grandchildren, Michael and Jenny, and four great grandchildren; Kailey, Kenneth, Nora, and Benson.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents John Edward (BUM) Urwin in 1970, and Adele St. Clair Urwin in 1999, her sister Janet Adele Heinze Parrent in 2020, and her husband of 62 years Arley McQueen in 2015.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Thermopolis and a social gathering and celebration of her life will follow in the church community center at a date to be announced and confirmed in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the following charities of your choice; the Hot Springs County Senior Center, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
