Bonnie Gay McCoy, 67, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born June 10, 1952 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, she was one of four daughters of Floyd and Colleen (Artly) Lawrence. Growing up, Bonnie was outgoing, a tomboy who always loved being with her dad doing whatever he was doing. She was a very independent woman. She attended high school in Thermopolis and Shoshoni then acquired an Associate Degree. After attending cosmetology school she was a hair dresser for many years.
She married Chuck McCoy in Shoshoni, WY in 2009. A Correctional Officer for the State of Wyoming in Fremont County, she also served in Pinal County, Arizona. When she retired to Arizona she worked at an elementary school and loved being around kids. Bonnie enjoyed reading and telling stories about her jobs.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Humpheys and his fiancé, Jessica Powell of Thermopolis; sister, Jerri (Ace) Redman of Gillette, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2014, her daughter, Brenda McVean in 2007 and two sisters, Vicki Lewis and Judy Adcock.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
