Dale Ray Jackson, 83, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness after a period of declining health.
The only child of Clyde and Margaret Jackson, Dale was born April 11, 1938 in Lodi, Ohio.
Following high school, he attended the University of Toledo receiving a degree from the College of Pharmacy.
In the early 60’s he was a Commissioned Officer in the Public Health Service as a Pharmacist and his favorite duty station was Rose Bud Indian Hospital in South Dakota.
In the early 70’s Dale had the opportunity to become partners in Kimmel’s Pharmacy in his hometown of Wellington, Ohio.
He was a diligent worker, loved to read and enjoyed gardening and planting thousands of trees on his acreage in Wellington. He also enjoyed backpacking with his dad mostly in the Moab, UT area.
Dale married Sue Tinker, July 19, 1986 in La Mesa, California. Following his retirement in 1995 the couple spent a few winters near the ocean in North Carolina. In 2002 they visited Yellowstone and discovered Thermopolis and moved here in 2003. He loved walking the Hot Springs State Park several times a week. People used to ask Dale if he liked living in Thermopolis and he would say "I am looking at this as an adventure and Sue is still just looking at it."
Cherishing his memory is his wife, Sue of 35 years; stepchildren Tina Biltz of Wellington, OH and Karl Dickinson of Ann Arbor, MI and step-grandchildren Henry and Audrey Biltz and Otis Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
