Shoshoni resident, Jerome George “Jerry” Leech, 79, died May 7, 2023 at Hot Springs Health in Thermopolis, Wyoming. At the time of his death he was presently residing at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness in Thermopolis, WY
One of three children of James and Gertrude (Dlugosh) Leech, he was born September 1, 1943 in Torrington, Wyoming. Growing up on a ranch in Lucerne, WY, he graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1961. He earned a botany degree in 1965 from the University of Wyoming.
On May 6, 1965 he married Sandra Corley and two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Eversole on December 16, 1977 in Elko, Nevada which blended her family of four with Jerry’s two children.
Jerry worked as a tower guard at the Wyoming Historical Penitentiary in the ‘60’s and early ‘70’s. He became a diesel mechanic and shop foreman for Halliburton Services in Rawlins and Casper, WY. Following, he was a shop foreman for Rip Griffin Travel Centers in Rawlins, Barstow, CA and New Braunfels, TX.
Retiring in 2005 he moved to Lovell, WY. In 2018 Jerry moved to Shoshoni, WY to be near his daughter, Melodi.
A bird watcher, Jerry enjoyed gardening, antique restoration and woodworking, especially canes.
Survivors include his daughter Melodi (Tim) Horrocks of Shoshoni; stepsons, Bill Beaulieu of Cassville, MO and Ed Beaulieu of Ventura, CA; brother, Raymon (Marilyn) Leech of Casper; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jeff, stepson Mike Beaulieu, stepdaughter Malinda Graham, wife Jackie of 36 year, and son, Wesley Leech.
Cremation has taken place and Jerry’s family will be having a private family celebration of his life.
