Karsten L. Nettles, 83, died at Hot Springs Health, August 11, 2021 in Thermopolis.
He was born February 24, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Denver and Vivian (Free) Nettles. Following high school he served in the US Army from 1957-1961.
On April 8, 1957 he married Mary LaRue Hobbs in Elko, Nevada. Prior to her death, the couple was married 52 years.
A mechanic, Karsten was employed by Chopping Chevrolet, Vicklund Car Clinic, UPS and Marathon Oil. In addition, he operated a wrecker service and Karsten’s Auto Works.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering with all trucks, cars and tools. If someone needed a part for an auto, Karsten most likely could supply it.
Survivors include Karsten’s children, Lynn (Sue) Nettles of Nevada, Debby (Bob) Milek and Tammy (Rick) Redland, both of Thermopolis; brothers, Tony of Thermopolis and Mike of Evanston; grandchildren, Ryan Redland, Kelsey Tobin, Shawn and Karsten Milek and Kristina Hart and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Justin and Casey, sisters, Judy, Karen and Penny and his parents.
Interment of cremains will be held at a later date in Idaho.
