Kent Russell Burton of Thermopolis, Wyoming, passed away on September 15, 2025.
Kent was born on January 30, 1950 in Sterling, Colorado. He was the first child of Wallace and Agnes Burton.
After graduating from Haxtun High School in Haxtun, Colorado in 1968, he attended Northeastern Junior College and the University Northern Colorado. Kent married Lynnette (Lynn) Isaacs in September 17, 1976. They lived in Paonia, Colorado for 32 years and then discovered the hotsprings in Thermopolis, Wyoming and decided it would be the perfect place for the two of them to live.
Kent enjoyed spending time in the mountains camping, four wheeling, skiing (snow and water), trips to Moab, Utah and Lake Powell, repurposing and working with his hands. He was dedicated to collecting firewood to keep us warm and cozy for 50 years. In Thermopolis, Kent enjoyed visiting with friends and visitors he soaked with at the bathhouse.
Kent is survived by his wife, Lynn Burton, sister, Linda (Gerry) Coyne of Loveland, CO, brother, Neal Burton of Loveland, CO, sister-in-law, Sandy Westerberg of Bozeman, MT, niece, Danielle (Evan) Willis of Loveland, CO, nephew, Dylan Burton of Loveland, CO, nephew, Garrett (Amber) Burton of Loveland, CO, niece, Sage Burton Piersel (Mason Dean) of Medford, OR, nephew, Craig (Holly) Westerberg of Helena, MT and nephew, Shane Westerberg of Bozeman, MT.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karen Burton and brother -in-law, Mark Westerberg.
