Laurie Kelley, 65, died April 8, 2022 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming after a sudden illness.
Born October 20, 1956 in Absarokee, Montana, she was the daughter of William and Olga (Bjorndal) Kelley.
A tough lady when she needed to be, she was employed several years as a smelter at Stillwater Mines in Montana. She also worked for the Health and Skincare company Monet.
She moved to Thermopolis, working at her son’s and son-in-loves bakery “The Lazy Fox” where she was the much beloved “Cookie Maven”.
Incredibly loving, she was well known for “adopting” people in need, she was happy to be a mom for anyone who needed one.
She is survived by her son Nels Kelley, his husband Ian Edmiston and her brother, Mike Kelley, of Thermopolis and her cousin Kay Mckittrick of Billings. She was preceded in death by her parents.
An online memorial will celebrate Laurie’s life.
Any donations in her memory can be sent to politicians or groups who support universal healthcare, if we had it she would still be with us.
