Leland Purl Morley, 99, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Hot Springs Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis. He was presently a resident of the Wyoming Pioneer Home.
Born August 14, 1921 in Athens, Pennsylvania, he was one of six children of John and Charlotte (Cotton) Morley. Upon graduation he was employed in many different venues. He became a building maintenance supervisor for various companies.
As Mailman Third Class, Leland served in the US Navy during WW II.
In 1947 he married Margaret Teresa Hanf in Guilford, New York. They enjoyed 61 years together before Margaret died in 2008 in Clinton, Iowa.
Leland lived and worked throughout the East Coast states. He moved to Clark, WY in 2017 to live with his daughter and retired to the Wyoming Pioneer Home in Thermopolis in 2019. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his children, Robert “Larry” Morley of Viola, IL, Cherry “Margaret” (Glenn) Green of CA and Charla (Mike) Gerbig of Powell, WY; eleven grandchildren; 24 great grands and one great, great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
No services will be held as per Leland’s request. Cremation has taken place.
