Letamae French, 90, died peacefully in her sleep November 27, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Kerry, in Eagle, Nebraska where she had resided the past 2 ½ years.
Born October 15, 1931 in Waco, Nebraska, she was one of 9 children of Miller and Inez (Valentine) Adkisson. In 1949 she graduated from Lincoln High School in Nebraska, then entered into marriage with Floyd French in June.
The couple ranched in the northeastern Colorado area for four years, then to Denver where Floyd worked. Letamae worked as a cook in several schools in Colorado. Eventually they moved to Thermopolis in 1995. A sociable woman, Letamae enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She also loved to travel.
Survivors include her children: Scot (Bobbie Jo) French, of Texas, Kerry (Lyle) Grossman, Miriam Ridolfi, Roy (Hayette) French, all of NE; sister, Celesta (Dale) Jacobson of AZ; seven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 11 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 siblings and her son, John.
Graveside services will be held at Monument Hill, Wednesday, December 8, 2:00 pm in Thermopolis.
