Marilyn Eugene (Stevens) Garcia

Marilyn Eugene Garcia, 96, died Thursday, December 15, 2022 at her home in Thermopolis after a two month period of declining health.

The daughter of Ralph and Elsie (Scholtz) Stevens, Marilyn was born November 26, 1926 in Yuba City, California.  For much of her life she was a sales clerk for Montgomery Ward in California.  She also did wedding catering for 20 years.

On March 14, 1948 she married Henry Garcia in Berkley, CA.  To this union was born three children.  Ten years after her husband’s death she moved with her daughter and son-in-law to Thermopolis, Wyoming in 2002.

A generous, humorous, sometimes stubborn woman, she was always concerned about her children and families.  Marilyn enjoyed quilting, reading, Scrabble and was an avid gardener.

Those cherishing her memory include her children, Steve of California, Jim (Debbie) Garcia of Pennsylvania and Sue (Bill) Leiva of Thermopolis; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In the spring of 2023 the family will have a celebration of her life in California.
