Maryann Mathern, 67, passed away Wednesday, June 03, 2020 at her home after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born November 8, 1952, in Ellendale, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Edwin and Hilda (Fehling) Schlenker.

After graduating from high school, she attended Mary College in Bismarck, ND where she received her BA Degree in Social Work.  Maryann was employed as a Social Worker in North Dakota, Sheridan and Worland, Wyoming before her career in Social Work took her to Thermopolis.  In 2002, she retired to focus on her health.

When her high school sweetheart, Daryl Mathern, returned from military service, they were married August 8, 1975 in Solen, North Dakota.  The couple moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 1976, Worland in 1978 and then settled in Thermopolis in 1989.

Maryann enjoyed tending flowers, shopping, calligraphy, facebook, and spending time with her grandchildren, Sophe, Jack, and Andrew.  She loved watching baseball and was an avid fan of the Rockies.

Those cherishing her memory include her husband, Daryl of Thermopolis; sons, Kris (Jennifer) of Beijing, China and Brandon (Lindsay) of Arvada, CO; brother, Richard (Mary) Schlenker of Sturgis, SD and sister, Sandy (Howard) Nelson of Hettinger, ND.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eddie.

A private service by the family has been held.  A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
