Ona Mae Mount, 87, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis following a period of declining health.
Ona was born to Elom and Maude (Summers) Garman on December 12, 1929 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
On April 27, 1947, Ona married the love of her life, John Mount, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. They lived in Russell, Kansas until 1952, when they moved to Plainville, Kansas. They were later transferred to Trenton, Nebraska and then to Pratt, Kansas. In October 1968, John was transferred to Thermopolis, Wyoming.
Ona was a member of the Community Federated Church and Eastern Star, Vesper Chapter #19. During their healthy years, Ona and John were avid bowlers and golfers. They enjoyed camping and fishing in their boat on the lake. They traveled from coast to coast visiting family and friends. She enjoyed doing many different crafts and worked on many projects to give as gifts. She, also, enjoyed knitting, crocheting and in recent years liked going to the movies.
Family members cherishing her memory are her daughters, Evelyn (Ross) Guthery of Buffalo, Wyoming and Jackie (Skeet) Dewey of Hillrose, Colorado and son, Mark (Debbie) Mount of Thermopolis, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2 PM at the Community Federated Church in Thermopolis with Pastor Chuck Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at the Monument Hill Cemetery. Mortimore Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
